Celtics, Jaylen Brown: “A portion of the fan base is toxic”
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Jaylen Brown expressed his frustration with a portion of the Celtics fan base
“Why do I hate Boston? Their fans are some of the most racist fans in the league,” LeBron James had criticized the Celtics’ fan base during the past summer. He wasn’t the first, and he wasn’t the only one to make such comments. Draymond Green also talked about his experience at TD Garden during the 2022 NBA Finals: “I’ve never heard so many racist taunts”.
In 2021, following Game 2 of the Playoff series between the Celtics and the Nets, Kyrie Irving also complained about the racism in the arena, and at that time, Jaylen Brown didn’t hide:
Painting every Boston fan as racist is unfair, but there’s a lot of work to be done

In the recent interview with The New York Times, the Celtics player doubled down, confirming that a portion of Boston’s fan base is “extremely toxic” and complaining that these fans do not appreciate black players engaging in social battles outside of the court.
