Ben Simmons injury, season over for Nets player?
Ben Simmons has been diagnosed with a nerve injury in his back and his season may be over
As reported by the Brooklyn Nets, Ben Simmons was diagnosed with a nerve injury in his back on Friday night that could sideline the three-time All-Star for the rest of the season.
Ben Simmons has been diagnosed with a nerve issue in his back after a medical reevaluation today. He will be out indefinitely as we evaluate the best course of long-term treatment.
Brooklyn Nets Before this diagnosis, coach Vaughn was extremely confident in seeing the player back on the court before the end of the season.
We expect him to return and we can’t wait to see him back on the court, especially for what he showed in his last game against the Sacramento Kings and his versatility in defending Sabonis.

After missing 15 consecutive games since the All-Star break, with Friday’s diagnosis, optimism at Nets has dropped considerably and it appears that the season could end early for the Melbourne native.
So far this has not been his best season, recording career lows in all major statistics with only 6.9 points, 6.3 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game in 26.3 minutes of play.
For Simmons, these last few games (with the Nets in full fight for a direct spot in the NBA Playoffs) would have been an important test bench to show his skills on the court and put himself back on track, especially considering the fact that he still has two years left on his $78.1 million contract and the Nets, while giving him time, are not eager to carry such numbers for a player who produces so little in relation to his playing time.
