We already discussed the record of wins in a single NBA season. Now it’s time to present the ranking of the worst teams ever in the League.
Forget the legendary ones, like Golden State Warriors in 2016 or Chicago Bulls in 1996. Let’s see which franchises registered the worst records ever, making history “in their own way”.

Most losses in an NBA season
Officially, it belongs to Philadelphia 76ers: in 1972-1973 season, they registered a 9-73 W-L.
The disastrous roaster didn’t include Hall of Famers or notable players. A positive note, so to speak, was the attempt to change the course of the season: coach Roy Rubin, who retired after a 4-47 W-L record, was replaced by coach Kevin Loughery, who ended up the year with 26 losses and 5 wins.
By the way, finished ninth in the NBA overall losing streak placings.
A further clarification is needed. In the chart below, Bobcats of 2012 are in first position because of the 89.4% of losses (59 out of 66 matches); the above-mentioned 76ers, instead, had almost 89% of losses during a Regular Season (82 matches).
As there are no videos of 1973 Sixers, here it is the recap of Bobcats’ disastrous season.
