Check List Round 1: What to Do and When
Guide to managing your fantasy team during Round 1 of Dunkest’s NBA Fantasy Basketball
It’s a crucial moment, as Dunkest’s NBA Fantasy Basketball (which is free and can be played on the app iOS, app Android and Web) is about to begin, and it’s essential to start strong by understanding all the game dynamics and avoiding mistakes.
We at Team Dunkest want to help you get off on the right foot (here you can find the NBA Fantasy Basketball 2024/25 Guide) by outlining all the moves to make at every moment of Day 1.
1. What to do before the start of Day 1
- By 01:29 AM on Wednesday, October 23rd, select your 5 starters and Captain, making sure to field players who will play in Round 1 (if you’re not sure why, read Dunkest Calendar: Day and Game Rounds).
2. What to do during Day 1
Round 1
- At 01:30 AM on Wednesday, October 23rd: Round 1 of Day 1 begins. Substitutions and the market close, and you will no longer be able to modify your team until the end of the round (which ends after T’Wolves vs Lakers).
- From 01:31 AM on Wednesday, October 23rd: follow the live scores of your team. Your players’ stats will update automatically and in real-time.
- From 01:31 AM on Wednesday, October 23rd: follow the live scores of your team. Your players’ stats will update automatically and in real-time.
- Shortly after the Minnesota Timberwolves vs Los Angeles Lakers game ends, Round 1 finishes, and you can make substitutions (bench to field) and change your captain until the first game of Round 2 (which will be at 01:00 AM on Thursday, October 24th, with Indiana Pacers vs Detroit Pistons)
Keep in mind that you can only field players who haven’t played yet. Also, players left on the bench at the end of the day will earn 50% of their points, while those on the field and the sixth man will get 100%.
Example: If you have Anthony Davis on the field as Captain and you’re not satisfied with his score, you can move him to the bench and replace him with a player who plays in Round 2, such as Joel Embiid (Bucks vs 76ers).
With the “undo” feature, you can undo changes made at the end of Round 1, but only before Round 2 starts. Thanks to this new feature, there’s no need to save your lineup five minutes before the start of the day, you can do it easily in the morning when you wake up, with the ability to make changes during the day in case of unexpected injuries.
Round 2
- At 01:00 AM on Thursday, October 24th: Round 2 begins with Indiana Pacers vs Detroit Pistons, and team management operations will be locked again until the end of Suns vs Clippers (the last game of Round 2).
- From 01:01 AM on Thursday, October 24th: follow the live scores of your team. Your players’ stats will update automatically and in real-time.
- Shortly after the Suns vs Clippers game ends, Round 2 finishes, and you can make substitutions (bench to field) and change your captain until the first game of Round 3 (which will be at 01:00 AM on Friday, October 25th, with Boston Celtics vs Washington Wizards).
Round 3
- At 01:00 AM on Friday, October 25th: Round 3 begins with Boston Celtics vs Washington Wizards, and team management operations will be locked again until the market reopens for Round 2.
- From 01:01 AM on Friday, October 25th: follow the live scores of your team. Your players’ stats will update automatically and in real-time.
3. What to do at the end of Day 1
- Shortly after the last game of Round 3, you can check your score and your position in the ranking.
- Until 00:59 AM on Saturday, October 26th, the market will be open, allowing you to improve your team by selling and buying players in preparation for the next day
For each day, it’s crucial to build your roster with players who are spread out across all the game rounds. This way, you avoid negative surprises and always have a player on the bench ready to replace a poorly performing starter.
